Book Sketching and Illustration Workshop

Coral Woman is envisioned as a book made by children, for children.

On the 10th and 17th April 2021 Avid Learning and Peek-a-book
Literature Festival presented two batches of the immersive and unique workshops ‘Coral Woman: A Sketching and illustration workshop’ for children between the ages of 9 and 14 where they participated in an immersive 2-hour workshop with Zainab Tamabawalla on sketching and illustrating corals.

Over 19 unique artworks by the participants of these workshop are now featured in the final published edition of
the book and they will also be duly credited for their contributions.

The program received an overwhelming response and was
overbooked for both sessions with requests to repeat the workshop for a larger crowd. The overarching message of the session was also meant to be social and environmental and ties in with AVID's own series on Sustainability that we launched digitally in 2020.
